Unique and original adventure art

Many artists sell their work online, so what makes me different? Hey, I'm biased, but I think I make some really cool stuff! You won't find my work anywhere other than here and at my exhibitions. A lot of artists can say this, so here are some other reasons why you should take a look at my work:

What makes me different:

• I offer only original, handmade pieces, sculpted and produced by me here in my shop. In this world of mass production, franchises, and big-volume discounters, an original handcrafted piece really stands out. I am proud to offer my work in the spirit of the artists and craftspeople down through the centuries: you can talk directly to the artist without middlemen, agents, or marketing people in the way. My work is what inspires me and keeps me alive. You won't find this at Wal-Mart.

• I will give you free shipping on orders over $150. Some places charge so much for shipping it seems like they are making their living as shipping middlemen rather than artists. My rates for shipping in the US are quite reasonable: $7 for orders under $50, $12 for orders from $50.01 to $100, and $16 for orders up to $149.99. Rates include insurance and delivery confirmation, and usually arrive in two to three days.

• My work makes fantastic gifts for those hard-to-buy-for outdoorsy types. My original sculptures are a sure bet instead of giving technical gear if you don't know exactly what they want. Let's face it, if you don't climb chances are you'll give the climber on your list a gift that will languish in a closet somewhere. Give a gift that they will remember for years to come: a handcrafted work of art depicting their favorite sport.

• I have exhibited all over the country. I have been a working, professional sculptor since 1993 and have shown my work all over the US. Many artists are hard to reach and seem to avoid contact with the people who buy their work. I love meeting my buyers! I have been to over 50 shows in the past 15 years, it is such a joy for me to see the face that goes with voice I have heard on the phone before. I would love to meet you, come see me at a show this year.

• My work is made in the USA. Yes, you can still buy genuine American craftsmanship. There is so much junk and mass-produced garbage out there, much of it posing as "handcrafted" or "art," it's really frustrating to real artists. REAL artists create their works in their own workshops and are happy to explain what they do and how they do it. Don't be fooled by assembly line "original oil paintings" and other nonsense, get a genuine work of art directly from the artist.

• I offer four ways to pay. I accept Mastercard, Visa, money orders, and personal checks. My sales are processed through my local walk-in bank rather than an on-line processor, which offers you a higher level of security. I would be concerned about dealing with someone who does not accept credit cards.

• I have a no-risk money back guarantee: If you don't like it, send it back. This one's pretty simple. If, for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase, just send it back within 14 days of receipt and I will refund the cost of the item (but not the cost of shipping). No "restocking fee" nonsense. If you (or the receipient if it's a gift) are not happy with anything you get from me, just return it. It's as simple as that.

• I offer safe and secure ordering. I use a top-of-the-line 128 bit encrypted order form. I am very concerned with keeping your information secure and I never share your personal data. I take the simplest and most effective step of all: I do not store your personal data on a computer that is connected to the internet.

•
I have the best privacy policy there is: I will not share your information with anyone. I don't sell my mailing list to marketing companies or spammers. I don't give it to "partners" or "affilates" or any shady loophole junk like that. The ONLY reason I would give your information to anyone is to comply with a subponea or other legal requirement, but that has never happened.

• I am an established professional sculptor with Fifteen years experience. I've been doing this a long time and I have an established style. I have designed and consulted for major toy companies, so you've probably seen my work without even knowing it. I have also been a semi-pro costume designer and professional illustrator, fields closely related to sculpting. Art, specifically three-dimentional art, has been my passion all my life. I love what I do!

• I use traditional techniques with modern materials. I sculpted every item you see here on my web site. This time-consuming and painstaking process produces a beautiful, highly detailed original, from which I make master molds. I then make a small number of castings, one at a time, by hand, here in my shop. I cast in Alabastrite, a mix of alabaster powder and resin. This is the same material used by many of the world's finest figurine companies. I have also worked in cold-cast bronze, straight resin, hot-cast silver and gold, expanded foam urethanes, and other media. Famous artists used these same techniques for centuries, I like to think that I match the best modern materials with traditional, old-world artistry.

• You can see multiple photos and read detailed descriptions. I spent a lot of time taking clear, close-up photos of my work. I shot from all sides to make sure the piece was well illustrated. And I wrote descriptions that convey the "feel" of the piece. Sure, nothing compares to actually holding an item in your hands, but this is pretty close. And remember, if you don't like it, you can send it back.

• These things are really cool. I really try to capture the spirit of each sport. I want you to feel you have a piece of your favorite activity right there on your desk or shelf. Over and over I get comments about how people get a smile from looking at my work, it reminds them of their passion. Sculpting is MY passion and I hope that it shows.
